Terms of use

Effective 1 August 2026 · Applies to the Pocket Links app and pocketlinkgolf.netlify.app

These terms are short because the arrangement is simple: we made a game, you play it. Downloading or using Pocket Links, or using this website, means you accept them.

1. The licence

Pocket Links is licensed to you, not sold. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play the app on Apple devices you own or control, under the standard App Store terms. The game, its artwork, its words, its rules text and its code remain the property of David Capp.

2. Fair play

Ranked leaderboards only mean something if every score was made the same way. You agree not to tamper with the app, its saved data, or its score submissions, and not to submit scores generated by modified or automated play. We may remove scores that are plainly not golf.

3. Game Center

Leaderboards and achievements are provided through Apple's Game Center and are subject to Apple's own terms. We don't operate those services and can't control their availability.

4. The Member’s Card

Pocket Links is free to play. There is one optional in-app purchase, the Member’s Card, sold once at the price shown in the App Store for your region. It is not a subscription and does not renew. It unlocks the weekend tournaments, the archive of past daily courses, and the stationery drawer.

Today’s daily round and its leaderboard, unlimited casual golf, all twenty cards, and your own statistics and history are free and are not behind the Card.

The purchase is a non-consumable tied to your Apple Account and shared through Family Sharing. Restoring it on another device is free and is available from the Member’s Card screen without an account of any kind. All payments, refunds and billing are handled by Apple under the terms of the App Store; we cannot process a refund ourselves, and requests should go to Apple. If a purchase is refunded or a Family Sharing grant is withdrawn, the unlock ends with it.

We may add to what the Card includes. We will not take away what it already unlocked for you.

5. No warranty

The app and this site are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work hard to keep the game correct and available, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free — and a game about golf makes no promises about your temper.

6. Limits of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, David Capp is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing affects the statutory rights you hold as a consumer where you live.

7. Changes

The game and these terms may change — a rule rebalanced, a feature added. Material changes to the terms will be reflected here with a new effective date. Continuing to play after a change means accepting it.
